Armpit hair shavers

Shave Away!

You’re a woman who’s always on the go. Your work, school or any activity you are involved with demands too much of your time. Your morning routines are shortened just to squeeze a few precious minutes for that morning commute. Even shaving out those unwanted hair becomes a chore because there’s just so little time to get things done. The worst part is if you’re in a hurry to shave off your armpit hair, not all the hair is shaved. It all boils down to having the cleanest shave possible without taking up too much time.

Common characteristics of a good armpit shaver

An outstanding armpit shaver would be one that need not take to many strokes to achieve that smooth, hair-free skin. Therefore, a dual-blade would be ideal for the task since the initial blade cuts off most of the armpit hair while the secondary blade finishes the job. Armpit hair is generally thicker than those found on other parts of the body, thus it’s tougher to shave them. Plus armpit hair grows faster, so a perfect shave is a huge difference from a sub-par one, with the difference being a couple of days of needing to shave again!

The skin of the underarms is also different from the skin in other parts of your body. The armpit is home to many glands, both sexual, hormonal and sweat. The skin between your arm and your body is very sensitive. A water-based lubricant should be built in on the razor so that you don’t have to worry if you run out of shaving cream when you need it. Keep in mind that many harsh chemicals can upset, irritate or disrupt the balance of hormones in your underarms. By using a razor with a water-based lubricant, skin irritation and not-so-close shaves can easily be avoided.

As with any razor, it becomes useless when it becomes dull. Since it’s not feasible and too expensive to create razors that won’t dull, the ideal underarm shaver should be durable for at least a week’s worth of use. Any longer than that might put you at risk of having infections from the bacteria that accumulates in the blade even if it’s still sharp.

Lastly, the ideal armpit shaver should have an easy-to-grip handle. Shaving the underarms is quite often an awkward situation so a razor that’s very hard to manipulate would make the job a lot harder than it should. If people get accidents when shaving the face, shaving the underarms are no more different, if not more risky.

Which is better – A simple manual shaver, or an electric/battery powered shaver? It all depends on your budget, and your frequency of shaving. Also, do you enjoy grooming yourself? These are the questions to ask when deciding on the best armpit hair shaver for you.
